Want to escape from group travel?
These pages allow you to design your own trek in Nepal. You can choose among several standard treks or select a more unusual destination. For standard treks, we'll suggest a trek itinerary as described in the Lonely Planet Trekking in the Nepal Himalaya book and you can add rest days or extra days for side trips.
Though we don't insist that you have been trekking in Nepal before, we have aimed this facility at those who have trekked before and have enough experience to make educated decisions about hotels, transportation and walking schedules.
Once you have chosen your trek, you can add hotels, transportation by road or air to the starting point, transportation to and from the airport and extra services to make a complete Nepal program. We'll also give you the opportunity to decide if you want us to send a leader along with you or if you want to shoulder the leadership responsibilities yourself. Leader selection is not available yet, but will be implemented soon.
At each stage we'll tell you how much the trip will cost, whether you are travelling alone or with a few friends.
If you log in with a user name and password of your choice, you will be able to retrieve your itinerary later and modify it until you are happy with the dates, itinerary and cost. Once you have firmed up your program, you can finalise it and we will confirm the flights and hotels for you. At this final stage, we ask for a US$35 deposit, which can be paid by i-check or credit card. The deposit will be credited towards the cost of the trip and, as a bonus, we will and send you a copy of the latest edition of Trekking in the Nepal Himalaya. This book will give you all the information you need to prepare for your trek and includes comprehensive route descriptions of all the important trekking routes in Nepal.
Note that we offer treks, and at this time do not provide the opportunity to climb any Himalayan peaks.
A reminder: This trek will be a private trek for you and your party. Therefore, you can schedule it at any time you wish. You may wish to review the following information before you proceed with developing an itinerary:
Information about Flights
Terms and Conditions
Equipment you will need
This is still in active development. More bells and whistles will be added over time, but this is the basic framework.
